An exciting opportunity has become available with our prestigious client who is a prominent government department. The client is seeking an experienced hands on Voice Engineer (VoIP Engineer) to join their welcoming team.

 

The Voice Engineer (VoIP Engineer) Role:

You will use your knowledge and experience to ensure that the voice networking services are configured securely, highly available and performant. Working with internal Product Management teams you will further develop the voice systems to meet availability requirements and emerging user needs.

You will work within a specialised team to develop, support and maintain the Rosa Voice Networks and connections (internal and external) and links to video capability inside Rosa and with our partners.

Proactively monitor the gateways to identify security, performance and capacity issues.

Work mainly in a squad of engineers but also expected to take responsibility for the workload of project deliverables, technical incident support including BAU activities.

Document processes, configuration and known fixes to develop a shared knowledge base.

Respond to Service Desk Incident and Request tickets within defined SLA’s.

Use Jira to plan and note progress of project deliverables, estimate resources and record risks.

Inform the roadmap of the private cloud offering by working with vendors and 3rd parties to establish upgrade paths and end of support milestones.

 

What the Voice Engineer (VoIP Engineer) Will Need:

- Good experience as a Voice Engineer with a focus on SIP, Voice Gateways, and Session Border Controller (SBC)

- Experience with WebRTC voice and video protocols would be desirable

- In-depth knowledge of SIP signalling, media flows, and troubleshooting methodologies

- Hands-on experience with voice gateway configuration and management

- Proficiency in configuring and managing Session Border Controllers (SBCs)

- Strong understanding of Quality of Service (QoS) principles in a voice environment
