An exciting opportunity has become available with our prestigious client who is a prominent government department. The client is seeking an experienced Lean Practitioner to join their welcoming team.

 

The Lean Practitioner Role:

Lead the development and implementation of nuclear policies and procedures. Review, monitor and report on all project movements and status. Pro-actively raise any issues, which may result in unnecessary delays, and find solutions as appropriate. Assess service and risk issues. Develop sound operational knowledge.

  • Provide technical expertise in specialist subject area(s)
  • Maintain and develops wide recognition as a technical authority
  • Represent the Engineering Function inside the Company
  • Represent the organisation in technical discussions with NII and other Regulators, as required
  • Understand site safety case implications within technical area(s)
  • Understand and communicates the organisation’s processes and standards
  • Seek to develop the technical area to the benefit of the Company roles in specialist areas
  • Assist in the development of technical knowledge management
  • Assist in the development of engineers’ technical skills.
  • Undertake Intelligent Customer and Design Authority roles in specialist areas
  • Act as mentor and supports other skills development and functional development and knowledge management activities
  • Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality on Site
  • As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence
  • The post holder may be required to undertake delegated responsibility within the requirements of the Design Authority under S-157 as specified on the Site Compliance Matrix
  • Undertake core competence roles as required
  • Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism
  • The post holder may be required to undertake emergency scheme duties.

 

What the Lean Practitioner Will Need:

  • Degree in an engineering, science or related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer Status or equivalent
  • Masters level qualification National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 7
  • Has a comprehensive understanding of one or more technical areas
  • Significant period of relevant experience in an appropriate technical area
